meet miss olivia, 2 weeks old. an owl perched on a branch outside her room-to-be while she was in her mama’s belly, and still keeps watch outside her window now. from there, the owl theme caught on… check out her daddy’s forearm a few photos down. i thought it only fitting that little olivia owl perch up in a tree herself. 
OH MY GOOOOOODNESS. These are by far the most beautiful newborn portraits I have ever ever seen! And I know it sometimes seem like I am being over-the-top, but you truly inspire me!!!! I love that you have gone completely outside of the norm with these, which is totally your style, but it works! Awesome. Awe-inspiring.

Hi Joy–I’m a long time fan but this is the first time commenting. I LOVE your work, everything you capture is unique. I came across this post because I needed to get some inspirations for my session tomorrow, and I saw this post. Once in a while you come across an image that completely puts you in a place where you become speechless. That was what happened when I saw the one with Daddy holding his cello. I wish I can tell you how powerful that image is. Amazing work.

Well, I have been lurking in the shadows for some time just admiring your work…and so many of your sessions have blown my socks off, but none like this newborn session. The contrast with blacks and baby, your use of texture and light…good heavens, I could stare for hours. Breathtaking, Joy!!
