so very excited to share this shoot! as for the inspiration for it… while i was pregnant i especially loved reading psalm 139:13, it gave me so much comfort when i would have worries about my little clementine growing in the belly. it says, “for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. i praise you because i am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful.” i just imagined God “knitting” together every tiny bit of my little one and i began to collect beautiful yarns throughout my pregnancy. i knew i wanted to do a shoot using the yarn but it was really once we decided her name would be clementine that i thought to combine the yarn concept with a little clementine tree. in the last few weeks before she was born i worked on wrapping the yarn around the tree as i knew i wouldn’t have the energy to do all the prep once she was born and then we took it out in the backyard once we were home and settled from the birth and we all planted it together. my wonderful and dear friend, trisha, knit together a perfectly clementine colored wrap for her and we curled her up in it (thank you friend for your loving hands creating it for her!). gracie and brandon loved being able to “water” their little (sister) clementine with love under the tree and it just made my heart so happy to watch all the elements of the session unfold. a big thanks to donny for always indulging my ideas, even in my 9th month of pregnancy, holding me up post partum as i took these photos, being the ultimate prop master, kid wrangler, newborn soother, creative visionary and partner in all things… i love you endlessly and could not have picked a more beautiful person to raise children alongside. so, there you go, i hope you all enjoy the pictures as much as i loved creating them. this first image is the front of her birth announcement. :)

I’m am SO in love with this – and your family! So sweet and special is the gift of life =)
