my boy in his happy place…

here is my little brandon, 21 months old. his happy place is anywhere he can eat food off the ground, get dirty, pull weeds and run wild. today it was at the farm. still can’t believe he is almost 2. i tell him and gracie every day that they need to stop growing and gracie always responds, “mommmmmmy!!! i will still cuddle you when i am big, okkkk?!” i sure hope they both stick to that promise…

Summer is here…

and we spent the first few hot days running through the sprinklers, digging in dirt, building sand castles are getting reeeeeal dirty. and the dirtiest of all… my little B. B is for brandon. gracie mostly just calls him “B” as he responds to that over “brandon” any day. i realized i had taken a lots of photos recently of my gracie girl, but her little brother hadn’t made an appearance in a while (well, he is the second child AND won’t sit still for longer than half a second). so, in the middle of the weekend fun, i broke out the camera to document my little man. his personality as of late is that he is HAPPY (really happy… almost all the time!), he loves to talk to pretty ladies, he is in heaven singing/yelling songs into his make believe microphone, he has fantastic groovy dance moves, he can never resist a cookie and he is quite a sweet little cuddle bug.

i had to end these photos with these of brandon trying to grab my camera with all his might. when i picked up my camera this morning for a shoot, my canon strap was still very damp. love that boy. :)

Antiques & Butterflies…

today we went to the annual butterfly festival they have here in wimberley and gracie got to hold her first real butterfly (she lured him in with a sweet slice of cantaloupe). it was magical! then, on our way home, we drove by this funky antiques store that was just begging for a photo shoot… so we took a 5 minute pit stop. they had 20 or so salvaged chandeliers hanging from the branches of trees (giving me some serious inspiration for some upcoming shoots… stay tuned)! such a lovely day… we heart the country. xoxo

oh yeah… the boys were there, too. :) they were off doing boy stuff, but i did get one sweet shot of B. such a cuddle bug… always needs to be close.

we woke up this morning, picked up some good sticks for poles and walked to the creek for a little fishing (about 20 feet out the front door of our cabin). we just caught a few rocks but it was sure fun trying.

to the place where i belong! :)

we are in texas hill country… running in the wildflowers, catching frogs, singing loud, dancing crazy and enjoying every minute of it. i can assure you there will be hundreds of photos to share over the next few weeks between my kiddos and my upcoming client shoots, but here are just a few for now (i am taking advantage of a rare moment of having both of the little ones napping at the same time)! these were taken at my grandparents’ ranch down in corpus christi… we won’t see mimi or grandpa again until we get to heaven but i have to say that the fields of flowers that welcomed us made me feel like we were already there…

we are in iowa… enjoying family, life and trying hard to just be in the moment. it is blissful. there will surely be a long blog post when we get back of all the fun things we have done, but i had to post this one of my little brandon just for now. it has been verrry cold here (negative 6 today!) so i barely could have him outside for 5 minutes, but i got this one shot that was a keeper. he is on his new (old) rocking horse… one of many fantastic finds that i will be shipping back home… next time i will need to rent a uhaul! i am so thankful for my sweet babies. i hope everyone else has begun 2010 with as much joy as we have. happy new year!!!
