they both said they felt butterflies when they first saw each other. he was performing on the stage and she was admiring him from the audience. he has written countless songs about her since and now she has the honor of admiring him as his fiance… and soon to be wife! the inspiration for this shoot came from the love story of johnny cash and june carter. the love. the passion. the music. i did my best to use that as a starting point but add in a lot of things personal to mike and mary. his guitar, his special (and fantastic) old mic stand, his songs to her, their sweetness, and of course… butterflies.
