meet vita and her parents.  they win the prize for having the most awesome props of any client i have ever had!  and they drove them alllllll the way down from northern california with them all piled in the back of their truck just for this photo shoot!  old pedal cars, vintage signs, wooden fruit boxes, antique strollers and more (yes, more!)!   i don’t think all of the cool vintage items are even pictured in this blog post but here are a few highlights.  i was in heaven shooting at an amazingly beautiful location (maravilla gardens in santa rosa) on a perfectly warm summer day with beautiful golden light, a darling little girl and her super cool folks.

Ryder, 8 days new

and his amazingly beautiful family!  ryder’s mama was such a trooper crouching in a mossy, humid, dried up creek bed with me to get “the shot”.  :)   at one point i was prepping the next photo spot and i looked around to see her straddling a fallen log in the summer heat, bare breasted, nursing little ryder with sweat dripping down and i thought… this mama rocks!!!!

A day in the life… OUR LIFE!

i love taking pictures of my children but at times i lose myself in all my ideas behind the lens and find myself missing the tiny details of my kids that make our hearts overflow.  the tickle fights, flower picking, dance parties in our underwear, the cuddling, story time, her little curls, his infectious laugh and the playing…. and playing… and playing.  so i have been trying to be more involved in the little, beautiful moments by lending my children my ears, my heart and my time.  and we have been having a lot of fun.

melissa - Ohhhh Myyy Goodness!!! Thanks for sharing these SWEET shots. You do have a beautiful family. It’s so easy to let those ‘little’ moments get swept away. They really do get big too fast. I lOVE the one of them hugging near the window!!! You are C-R-A-Z-Y talented ;)
