Pumpkin Patch!

every year around this time i find myself wishing that the holidays would just be over.  this is the most insane time of the year for us portrait photographers and lately it has been 70 hour work weeks for me full of shooting, editing, ordering, packaging, designing, emailing… and somehow trying to fit in being a wife and mommy in the process.  i was sitting on the couch the other day i’m sure looking exhausted when gracie asked me “mommy do you have a headache?  or do you have to go to work?”  which made me realize that i need to give myself a little kick in the butt and try to live my happy life with my kids – starting now.  to be happy now and not wait until this busy time has passed.  to enjoy the season and share with my children the amazing miracle for which we celebrate the holidays.  so donny and i decided that we needed to have some fun – with no talk of work – so we went to the pumpkin patch!   and that night after the kids had gone to bed i felt as though my heart was full.

i can’t say that these photos are my most amazing work but i can say that they remind me how much glee can be found in making a conscious choice to enjoy the moment.  the day was warm with the most wonderful warm wind.  i closed my eyes for a moment there in the middle of the pumpkin patch with brandon’s chubby little cheeks pressed to mine and felt peace for the first time in a long time.

here is my little country boy… i swear i did not put that hay in his mouth.  :)

Sarah Neale - Amazing Joy. Brandon is such a chubby bear…I can’t wait to squeeze him! LOVE the ones of Gracie with the chicks. She looks so excited she could burst. LOVE
