New York, BABY!!! (times two!)

say hello to baby girl maya & baby boy khai (and their parents, natalie & ron) photographed in NYC!!! i photographed natalie and ron’s wedding a little over two years ago and i remember her telling me over and over how much she couldn’t wait to get pregnant so i could photograph her babies! i think she must have known how much i love to photograph newborn twins because they were blessed twice over! when they asked me to come to new york, the only photo request that i knew in advance was to try and get a shot of the babies with the new york stock exchange in the background (daddy works there). well, imagine my photographer’s glee when i arrived and saw that they lived in the building just across the street and the terrace looked directly toward the monument… ahhmazing. it had been raining for days but it stopped just long enough to be able to shoot for a bit in that dreamy, dreamy spot. i heart NY & this sweet little family! xoxo

sweet london is just a perfect DOLL. i photographed her as a teeny tiny newborn, out on the riverbank in texas (see those photos HERE), and thankfully i didn’t have to wait too long before she visited me back home in sunny california…

Little Surfer Girl turns ONE!

lily has grown a year in the blink of an eye. i photographed her mama & daddy while she was in the belly (with the surfboard), then when she was 13 days old (with the surfboard) – you can view that post here - and again, now, in celebration of her first year of life (with the surfboard)! lily’s mama had the board made for lily’s daddy as a wedding gift… it was to be the board he would teach their future children to surf on. she even wrote an inscription on it promising to always support the things he is passionate about. she has sure stayed true to her promise but i am guessing they spend a little more time climbing on the surfboard at home than in the ocean these days – this daddy is just over the moon with his baby girl! along with the board, they also brought along her best puppy friend, sula, and a teeny little bottle of champagne to toast lily’s first year (oh, how things can change in a year, right?!). so… here’s to you, sweet lily! xoxo

landon is a miracle baby. of course, all babies are miracles, but at 2 days old, he already had quite the story to tell. he was born with a life threatening and extremely rare heart condition and his parents were told he would need multiple heart surgeries (has already had one). this baby is a fighter and he has a war wound to prove it (it is just above the cutest swirly little belly button i have ever seen). what a blessing this shoot was for me to witness two parents that just ADORE every inch of their child. as i would be photographing landon and turn around to talk to them, each and every time, they would be cuddling, holding one another tight, and just gazing at him. it was such a sincere adoration that it really filled me with an indescribable peace. the kind of peace that stays with you for days and makes the world seem a little sweeter.

do you see that little baby smile on the black & white image below right? that was his first OFFICIAL smile… so happy to catch it on camera! :)

payton and owen are growing too quick! you may remember them as little two little newborn bears from this shoot or from the shoot of them in their mama’s belly here! yes, i’m lucky, i get to squeeze these babies often. :)
