Wildflowers Photography » Weddings http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog Blog Tue, 07 Feb 2012 06:15:15 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 Michelle & Robert’s Wedding! http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog/michelle-roberts-wedding/ http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog/michelle-roberts-wedding/#comments Wed, 16 Nov 2011 07:07:17 +0000 Joy http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog/?p=4909 michelle & robert were married on labor day at the very beautiful, inn of the seventh ray, in topanga canyon.  i had been dreaming of shooting them at that dreamy location for almost a year and as labor day approached, so did my labor day with clementine!  :)  there was lots of celebrating going on that very special monday as miss clementine had come into the world earlier than we had expected her but i was so very disappointed and sad i wasn’t able to be there myself at michelle and robert’s wedding as i was stuck in the hospital recovering.  but…  donny, aka super dad/super photographer man, full of all sorts of adrenaline after just seeing his daughter be born, was the lucky one able to document their wonderfully lovely day, along our two fabulous 2nd shooters, leeanne and sarah!  that day, after the wedding when he got back to the hospital to see me, he was so happy and full of joy and as he scooped up clementine in his arms, he just couldn’t stop talking about what wonderfully kind people michelle and robert were and how it only made him more full of life after seeing them be married and how grateful he was to have this blessing of a job and then come home to his new baby.  i have enjoyed pretending i was there at their wedding while editing their images and i love how there is such a feeling of splendor about them… sweetness, simplicity and happiness.  thank you, michelle and robert for giving us the honor of being able to be part of that lovely day and your even greater kindness in understanding that our little clementine had a timeframe all her own.  i promise you that i will be waiting anxiously for your future babies to be born so i can document all their adorableness as well (hint, hint).  :)

i met mark and whitney last year and i fell in love with them over sugar cookies.  they held hands and giggled and shared how they wanted their wedding to be fun, vintage and just to feel like home.  i was so honored to have been picked to document their big day and their vintage engagement session (see it here) only made me more excited for the wedding!  they were married in the walnut grove at tierra rejada ranch in moorpark on a brisk fall day.  the whole wedding party was so wonderful to hike out in the muddy pumpkin patch and into the corn field and i am so happy we went for it!  i love a bride who doesn’t mind digging her heels into the mud a bit.  ;)  it was a really beautiful rustic wedding with great details, homestyle bbq, a swoon-worthy dessert bar, a dreamy farm backdrop and a very GIDDY couple that took center stage and laughed and danced the night away like school children.  what an honor it was to witness such a sweet love…

]]> http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog/emily-morgan-a-few-wedding-portraits/feed/ 10 Bobby & Rochelle’s Wedding! http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog/bobby-rochelles-wedding/ http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog/bobby-rochelles-wedding/#comments Tue, 24 Aug 2010 07:28:36 +0000 Joy http://wildflowersphotos.com/blog/?p=2867 most fun wedding EVER.  these two are very near and dear to my heart.  you may remember rochelle and bobby from their engagement shoot (see it HERE).  rochelle is the jack of all trades for our household… assistant, nanny, organizer extraordinaire and friend. i had the honor of not only photographing their big day, but also styling it and coming up with all of the decor!  AWESOME.  :)  rochelle and bobby were planning their wedding in a very short amount of time and the goal was for it to be fun, creative, personal, handmade, inexpensive  and a theme based upon all things childlike (because of their passion for children and the way they met)!  they also firmly believed that it should be a day celebrating their love for God and their childlike joy in waiting on His timing in bringing the two of them together.  here were just a few of the creative touches in their day:  pinwheels made out of children’s book pages, paper chains, painted cardboard clouds, quilts hanging as backdrops, hundreds of old time candies, paper flowers, chalkboard artwork, cupcakes topped with fruit loops, gummy worms and sprinkles, a dinner catered by in & out burger, a cotton candy machine, multicolored paper crowns, handmade boutonierres with kites colored by my gracie, paper “leaves” cut from an old cinderella storybook and a lollypop, 20 pairs of converse sneakers and one fantastic swingset.  also, one of my favorite things we did was use antique trucks as centerpieces with little love letters and flowers put under their windshield wipers (inspired by the many, many notes and flowers bobby would leave on rochelle’s truck when they were dating)!  a sweet moment of the day for me was being tackled by my little brandon as he ran straight past the flower girls and into my arms as i was photographing the ceremony.  he was so joyful and in the moment, which felt so perfect for the kind of wedding that this was… perfectly imperfect.  during the reception as the sun went down, all the guests danced, played with slinkies and jacks, drew with sidewalk chalk, laughed in the photo booth, filled up on burgers and popcorn and talked about the adorableness of bobby and rochelle.  it was a fantastic day celebrating two of the most humble, honest, selfless and ridiculously fun people i have ever had the honor to call friends.  xoxo
