the book, “the princess and the pea” was one of my favorite fairy tales as a little girl. a few years ago, i read the story to my gracie girl and fell in love with it all over again. i’d been dreaming about bringing the tale to life in a photo shoot for quite some time and was just waiting for the perfect couple to come along for it… and they finally did. kylee and paul are getting married in a few months and have such an amazing flower child vibe about them (needless to say, it wasn’t a big stretch to get them on board with my idea). along with my vintage mattress dreams, we personalized the shoot to them by including paul’s guitar, an awe-inspiring painting that paul did with real wheat on canvas, kylee’s collection of vintage children’s books, her authentic gunne sax wedding dress from the 60′s, kylee’s homemade daisy headpieces (click here for her etsy shop!), and of course, their two precious little girls – paisley and grace. everything came together even more sweetly than i imagined with the sunlight golden and delicious, paisley and grace loving being princesses (hardly any bribery needed!) and just a wonderful feeling of LOVE as the sun went down. hope you all enjoy looking at them as much as i enjoyed shooting them.
